Meet Hanneke Frankema
Hanneke Frankema is a true floral influencer with a passion that dates back to her childhood. From a young age, she could be found in the garden, planting seeds and growing flowers. Her love for nature has always been her driving force, and her goal is to make the world more beautiful with flowers. Always inspired by organic shapes, she creates something beautiful time and time again.
Alongside the showpieces that her young talents created, Hanneke also designed several floral creations herself for her final show GROWTH! Below, we highlight three of her creations.

Masterpieces by Hanneke: Grow to Elegance
In the long-awaited new episode of Masterpieces by Hanneke, an elegant fan-shaped frame takes center stage. Inspired by Art Nouveau - stylish, symmetrical, yet versatile - this frame serves as a timeless foundation that can be brought to life in every season. In autumn with warm tones, in winter with amaryllis, berries, and other seasonal products, in spring with refined pastel shades, and in summer with an explosion of colorful flowers.
For this creation, Hanneke chose flowers such as clematis, viola, and chrysanthemums to bring balance and calm. Phalaenopsis, cymbidium, and roses add lines and depth, while plants provide surprising accents. The result is an enchanting autumn creation that radiates warmth and instantly captures attention.

Roots to grow
Step 1: Inspiration everywhereHanneke finds inspiration in everything around her—from books on nature and Jugendstil to a walk in the forest. Keep your eyes open, as the best ideas are waiting to be discovered!
Step 2: From nature to creationA moss-covered branch, a sprouting flower, or a unique vase—natural shapes are her starting point. Let nature inspire you and translate what you see into your own artwork.
Step 3: Sketching as a blueprintBefore she begins, Hanneke sketches her ideas. This not only helps her visualize the final result but also refines her concepts.
Step 4: Building the foundationThe chandelier starts with a sturdy yet flexible aluminum structure. She secures the shape with binding wire to ensure stability.
Step 5: Playful texturesTo add dimension, Hanneke uses Davallia roots. These dry beautifully and give the piece a natural, organic look.

Step 6: Flowers in the spotlightShe attaches small vases to the structure with thin wire. These will soon hold the flowers, bringing the entire piece to life.

Step 7: Experimenting with materialsHanneke loves surprising combinations. She drills holes in glass flowers to add wire, creating unique shapes and playful movement. This technique is part of her signature as a floral artist.
Step 8: Statement flowersLarge, striking flowers like heliconia, phalaenopsis, and gloriosa take center stage. They define the mood and shape of the arrangement. The clematis Amazing Sevilla and the curled fern (Monkey Tail Zenmai) are among Hanneke’s favorite flowers and are always incorporated into her creations.
Step 9: Composition and colorColor placement is crucial. She positions deeper tones further inside the design for added depth, while lighter flowers bring brightness and harmony.
Step 10: The signature elementWith a mix of branches, flowers, and plants, Hanneke creates her recognizable style—technically strong yet natural and free-flowing.
Step 11: Plants as a surprise elementPotted plants like Ludisia, Syngonium, Cryptanthus, and Ceropegia sandersonii add an unexpected twist, making the creation even more special.
Step 12: The final RresultThe final piece is a perfect blend of structure, lines, and flowers—playful, harmonious, and a true eye-catcher!
