Grief has always been a sensitive subject, yet it is a topic that is also surrounded by beauty and gratitude. There are lots of different ways to deal with grief. Here, we’ve taken inspiration from the Día de los Muertos, and the idea of being reunited with deceased family members and friends. This shoot was inspired by this tradition.
Shapes and colours
Remembrance pieces come in all shapes and sizes – from bouquets and wreaths to large and small arrangements designed to be placed on coffins. For this shoot, we set out to find a new approach to remembrance flowers by decorating an everyday object with colourful chrysanthemums from Zentoo. There are so many different ways to honour loved ones, and we opted to use lots of colour, because colour can be used to share a message about the person. Pink, for example, means ‘I love you’.
A strong flower
The chrysanthemum has a deep symbolic meaning, and it’s also a strong flower that lasts well in a floral display. We’ve created a colourful overall look that still exudes a sense of peace and calm. A beautiful tribute!
