On the move | FleuraMetz in Austria
In June, the national competition for Austrian apprentice florists took place at a very special location. This year’s edition of the ‘Bundeslehlingswettbewerb’ was held in the Gosser Hall, an old beer factory located in the heart of Vienna. Three winners of every Austrian province were allowed to compete in the national finals. FleuraMetz Austria was there!
Young talent
Doris Jobst from FleuraMetz Vienna was there. The Cash & Carry sponsored the flowers that were used in the bouquets for the honourary guests. Doris: "The young, fresh concepts brought floral art to life. It was stunning!"
Floral art
FleuraMetz Vienna also prepared a generous goody bag. Doris: "It was lovely to see how the young, Austrian florists learned what a full-service partner as FleuraMetz can do for them. It made me very happy." On Sunday, Gregor Lersch also presented a remarkable floral piece. Doris: "Despite the heat that day, many people came to see him. He makes such beautiful things."
FlowerTales
In addition to the competition, a lot more was there to experience. FleuraMetz Austria designed a stand for the Urban Tane trend from FlowerTales. “With thanks to the Cash & Carries Linz and Vienna, we were able to build a large stand. Luckily, Cash & Carry Villach brought the much needed cooling in the form of cooled transport. It was a very hot weekend, over 40 degrees in the shade.” says Doris.
In discussion
Doris: “The icing on the cake was when I was invited to join a discussion on stage. The subject was shopping behaviour and how social media can be a positive influence in this matter. By explaining that FleuraMetz has the will to work and grow together, we were able to show what this collaboration means. Local Heroes for example: sustainable, close and very on-trend. Respect for Mother Nature, sustainable flowers across the globe and packing materials were also shortly discussed.”
