This house plant remains a unique Christmas cactus

The Schlumbergera, also known as the crab cactus, flowers when the days are at their shortest, and is at its peak in November and December. This is why most people know this plant as the Christmas cactus.

The Schlumbergera is actually a flowering variety of succulent. You can recognise it by its red, white, pink or orange flowers. This beauty is also known as the plant that never dies because it will last for many years if cared for properly. With a little care and attention, this cactus will flower again and again every winter around Christmas time.

Preferred Supplier Hofland Flowering Plants grows Schlumbergeras and tells us about the roots of this winter-flowering cactus. “This cactus grows on rocks and trees in the jungles of Brazil. It is a genuine survival plant. It is very easy to care for and therefore ideal in terms of both use and application.”
