Flower galore during the FDF Flower Festival
A Flower Bar, coaching session with FDF Master Florist Ursula Wegener and presentation of “Floristry successful in social media”; FDF intrigued the industry with a flowering festival on 7 and 8 July.
FDF stands for Fachverband Deutsche Floristen, the association for German Florists. Junior florists from different parts of Germany came to the FloristPark that was dressed as a festival for the occasion. As a proud partner of FDF, FleuraMetz sponsored the flowers for the event. FDF wanted to give a platform to new faces in the flower industry and attracted different bloggers, journalists and other renowned individuals from the industry and partners.
Influencer Award
The meeting was initially held to give coaching, inspiration and support to talented florists. Another goal was to strengthen social networks. Instagram celebrities and different bloggers were invited to take a seat at the judges’ table for the Influencer Award. Find out the winner below.

Ursula Wegener: @floralproject3.0
Equally exciting was the coaching session by Ursula Wegener, master florist and teacher at the Gelsenkirchener Floristmeisterschule. Ursula: "You can arrange the perfect shape, colour or flower varieties but it’s the cohesion that counts. It’s what makes the difference between an ok bouquet and a bouquet that wows." She presented different arrangements and design styles during the event. More about her ideas are available in Instagram: @floralproject3.0
Quote Sophia: "I draw a lot of my inspiration from art. Therefore, I’m currently doing an internship at a museum. The dynamic in a bouquet is very important. The bouquet I made today has the shape of a wave."

Winner Influencer Award
The winning design made with chrysanthemum was created by Tino Hoogterp from Recklinghausen. His mesmerising flower corsage simply wowed the jury. Presented by the Association of German Florists, he received the very first Influencer Award. Tino congratulations, well done!
