INSPIRE | DIY - A loving gift
Love and connecting with other people: that’s what Valentine’s Day is all about On 14 February, people give one another a little extra attention through a heart-warming gift. Whether this is for your partner, friend, a family member or a secret lover, this do-it-yourself gift is sure to impress, every time.
Materials:
- Rhodos roses
- Pruning shears
- Cold glue (casein glue)
- A hat box
- Deluxe foil or paper (to present the rose in)
Why did the designer choose for the Rhodos? “Even when it is less carefully handled, this rose is still perfect for an array of jobs. The lightness and long-lasting of the strong Rhodos are beautiful benefits.”
Step 1
Put 1 stem aside. Cut the flower heads from the remaining stems.
Step 2
Carefully remove the petals from the cut flower heads
Step 3
Put a little cold glue on each of the petals you have plucked from the stems.
Step 4
Next, take the stem that you have put aside. Glue the flower petals, one by one, to the flower head.
Stap 5
Is your rose finished? Cut the green foliage from the original rose and glue it to the underside of the rose head.
Step 6
The last step is to cut the stem from the rose and to transfer the completed rose to a lovely gift box or other receptacle. Click here for our range of gift packaging.
A tip from the designer: “You can also apply this special technique to bridal arrangements. Instead of a bouquet, the bride can hold a single, beautifully designed bridal rose. The stem can be decorated with luxury ribbon and a pearl.”
