At a wedding ceremony where colour plays the lead role, a stunning backdrop behind the bride and groom is a must-have. During the FleuraMetz wedding event in Leipzig, top florist Max Reinbold created just that type of colourful backdrop. He did so in a series of steps, so you can easily reproduce his creation yourself. Add a little of your own style and creativity into the mix to fashion a gorgeous backdrop for the happy couple to say their weddings vows by!

Step 1
Make sure that the floral foam is well watered and attach it to the metal structure using the chicken wire and copper wire. The plants should be well watered too. Max used a mix of hortensia, hedera and jasmine, for example. Remove the plastic pot and wrap the roots in moss. Attach these plants to the metal structure in asymmetrical groups of two or three.
Step 2
You can now start adding the flowers to the structure. Overlap the flowers and stick them into the floral foam. Make sure you stick them in as deep as possible, though without the stem poking through on the other side.
