‘Angela Merkel tulip’ back on the market
On Wednesday the 6th of February, the first shipment of Angela Merkel tulips was sent out. It was only April last year when Jos Borst of Borst Bloembollen nursery in Opdam (The Netherlands) had the honour to personally present this variety to the Chancellor of Germany.

Chancellor Merkel received this tulip at the time in honour of her engagement for a valuable relation between Germany and The Netherlands. It was also a thank you for her efforts in the European integration. The ‘Angela Merkel tulip’ is red with an orange edge at the top, which represents the bond with the Dutch.
As from this week, this variety is available again on a small scale. Are you interested in this extraordinary tulip please contact your sales person for price and availability.
