I am working for HBI for quite some time. I know a lot of customers since my training years. I’ve seen a lot of them grow, know their needs en can serve them well because of that.
The interesting thing about my work as a Branch manager is the interaction with people and the independency I have. As long as the numbers are right, you get a lot of opportunities to do things your own way. The deskwork is not so much a favourite of mine, but it comes with the job. Luckily as a Branch manager you work a lot in the store too.
It used to surprise me. In my first week as a rooky at HBI a man was helping with sweeping the floor. Afterwards he introduced himself as the director! Nowadays our company has grown a lot bigger, but the informal atmosphere still remains.
