The diversity is what makes my job interesting all the time! On a busy day you would have to fulfil so many different tasks. From packing and assisting Production on overseas customers to checking stock and correcting export documents with Invoicing. It’s the dynamics what makes FleuraMetz a great company to work for.
The packing department consists of approximately 30 employees of whom 8 are daily dedicated to the packing of American and Canadian orders. My tasks concerns mainly the packing of flowers for overseas destinations. As coordinator I also lead a team of packers so the orders going out to America and Canada are processed properly. What I find particularly nice is that you frequently pack orders for the same customers. You feel like you get to know them and learn what they expect from you.
The role of coordinator is very appealing to me. Although I still have a lot to learn and every day is another opportunity to learn even more. It’s a great way to keep growing within FleuraMetz.
Packing of USA/Canada will start now and the volume will only increase as the day goes.
I notice an inferior quality product and take this up with my colleague in quality control.
In between all the packing I assist the flower inspection department (PD) with the check up of flowers destined for the US.
I check whether the number of boxes correspond with the number registered in the system. This is essential for Customs.
At the end of the day I go over the lists with Invoicing, who will then make up the export documents.
