Our core values “responsible, humane, forward” show the intrinsic social commitment of FleuraMetz. Besides supporting initiatives in the Netherlands, FleuraMetz concentrates on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), particularly in the third world country of Ecuador.
We daily export large quantities of beautiful roses and other ornamental products from Ecuador to our branches in Europe and North America. This obviously helps the economic development in Ecuador, but our CSR contribution explicitly focuses on promoting the Proyecto Indio initiative and its further professionalization. Proyecto Indio launches and supports activities in areas like health care, training and education, infrastructure and individual support, its motto always being “help to help self”. Proyecto Indio was founded in Switzerland in 1999. Swiss florists can become members and provide a financial contribution by selling roses from Ecuador. FleuraMetz is the financial guarantor for Proyecto Indio and provides organisational support through chairman and initiator Kurt Hottinger, local manager Rocío Cisneros and many other staff at FleuraMetz. In 2010 FleuraMetz also made a direct financial contribution of USD 50,000.
Since 2011 Proyecto Indio is expanded to other countries in Europe and North America. In order to emphasize the connection Proyecto Indio will contain the label “a FleuraMetz foundation” from now on.
